The original lineup consisted of Bev Bevan, Parthenon Huxley, Kelly Groucutt, Louis Clark, Mik Kaminski and Eric Troyer. The members named themselves The Orchestra after a similar band Groucutt had played with through the ’80s and ’90s.

In 2001 The Orchestra released their album No Rewind and began touring widely across the UK, Europe and South America. During their 2006 UK tour they played alongside guitarist Phil Bates of Trickster. The following year The Orchestra gave a noteworthy performance at the Sweden Rock Festival, and in 2009 they added Glen Burtnik from Styx as a new member.

The Orchestra engaged in prominent US tours in 2014 alongside high-profile acts like John Fogerty and Deep Purple. They were featured in a documentary about their evolution titled No Rewind, which premiered at New Jersey’s Rivertown Film Festival in 2017. They are known for their experimentation and symphonic rock and roll sound, which incorporates both classical and rock music styles.
