Catalina García, Santiago Prieto, Nicolás Junca and Camilo Parra first performed together in a small town near Bogotá, Colombia in 2007. For the next couple of years, the group would congregate to play songs from various Latin American music genres. The band originally played at only small gatherings like weddings and parties.

In 2009 the band started playing live at local music festivals in Colombia. Soon after in 2010 they wrote their first original songs titled “Ton Silence” and “Swing With Me”. In 2012 radio station Radiónica called Monsieur Periné’s hit single “La Muerte” one of the best songs of the year. The group also released their first album called “Hecho a Mano” in 2012. 2013 marked the group’s first international tour across Europe called “Huracán”. Lead singer Camilo Parra and drummer Alejandro Guliani left the group between 2014 and 2015. Monsieur Periné won the Best New Artist award at the 16^th Annual Latin Grammy Awards after the release of their second album “Caja de Música” in 2015. In 2018 the group's third album titled “Encanto Tropical” was finally released.
