Trout Steak Revival was formed in 2009, and their name was inspired by mountain lakes in Colorado and the fish steaks they made from the fish they caught in those lakes. In 2010, Trout Steak Revival released their first album Trout Steak Revival. In 2013, Trout Steak Revival won an Emmy Award for their musical contribution to a soundtrack for the Rocky Mountain PBS.
