Various publications like Decibel Magazine raved about their song “Ashes” in particular, as well as their heavy metal cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes.”
In 2013 Tombs recorded their album Savage Gold with Cannibal Corpse’s Erik Rutan. The band has been widely hailed for pushing the boundaries of the heavy metal genre and their similarity to metal legends like Black Flag and Joy Division.
