Sarah Tomberlin is originally from Florida but after a childhood full of moving and starting fresh, she ended up in Illinois. She graduated high school at 16 and attended college for a while before dropping out to pursue her career in music. In 2018, she released her first full length album, At Weddings, through Saddle Creek Records. This first album was widely received with high praise. In August of 2020, she announced her new EP called Projections. That same year she also released a music video for the song “Wasted.”
Tomberlin’s music faces the hard truths of life in as honest a way as possible. Her hauntingly slow folk melodies. Growing up, she had many religious influences throughout her day-to-day life. Tomberlin draws on those experiences and writes about them in her music. Her music is meant to find a balance between that religious background and finding art that is meaningful.
