Their best-known hits include, “If You Wanna Get to Heaven” from the debut 1973 self-titled album and 1975’s “Jackie Blue.”
The band arose out of the group Family Tree with singer and songwriter Randle Chowning putting together an act with artists such as Steve Cash, John Dillon, Elizabeth Anderson and others. After a demo tape was sent to Brewer & Shipley manager Paul Peterson and Stan Plesser, the band signed them as managers in November of 1972 and finalized the lineup and band name, which is short for Cosmic Com Hob and His Amazing Ozark Daredevils.

The band has had quite a bit of turnover in personnel over the years but is still touring. The group has eight albums, including 2018’s Off the Beaten Path.
