The band’s debut full-length album titled Lil’ Smokies was released in 2013, followed by Changing Shades in 2017 and Tornillo in 2020, which was named for the town where the LP was recorded. The story behind Tornillo is that for nine days, the band members lived at the studio in Tornillo, Texas, where they ate all their meals, spent the nights and, of course, played their music.
The Lil’ Smokies have toured extensively throughout the United States, performing over 150 shows a year as well as appearing at many festivals, including the Hangtown Music Festival, the 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival, the American Music Legacy Festival and many more. They have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the field, such as Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Greensky Bluegrass, among others.
