Despite a classic piano-focused childhood starting from the age of 6 Maisonneuve eventually quit because he was “sick of playing other people's compositions”. This mentality translates to his music as Sub Urban tracks bounce along with their innovative melodies. In 2016 Maisonneuve dropped out of high school and focused on music in isolation to work on his sound. In 2019 he released the hit single “Cradles” which reached the #1 spot on Alternative Billboard charts.

Drawing influences from artists like EDEN, NoMBe, K, Flay, and Joji Sub Urban represents his own unique “monster”.
