In 1991, Lunachicks teamed up with the Dictators on tour. The following year, the band released its second album, Binge & Purge. In 1993, Lunachicks went on tour in Japan and debuted its six-song EP, Sushi A La Mode. The band's next studio album, Jerk of All Trades, was released in 1995.
Lunachicks rose in popularity following the release of Pretty Ugly in 1997. The album featured one of the band's most well-known songs, "Don't Want You." In 1998, Lunachicks released its fifth studio album, Luxury Problem, and its first live album, Drop Dead Live. Following the release, the band kicked off a tour that had the band headlining in the UK, Japan, Europe and the United States. They opened for famous artists like No Doubt, the Buzzcocks, Rancid and the Go-Gos. This led to the rise in demand for Lunachicks tickets worldwide.
The Lunachicks joined the Warped Tour in 1999 and 2000. Throughout the 2000s, the band has experienced several hiatuses. They toured again in 2002 and 2004. Additionally, the band was set to perform at sold-out shows at the Webster Hall in 2020, before the show was ultimately postponed due to the pandemic.
