Nicholas Foster Rattigan was born on August 6, 1992, in Henderson, Nevada. He is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, journalist and music video director. In middle school, he was inspired by The Beatles before moving on to nu-metal artists like Slipknot. A “cool aunt” who gave him the first Violent Femmes LP and advised him to listen to Goo by Sonic Youth inspired his musical awakening. Rattigan says he taught himself guitar through internet guitar tabs for bands like System of a Down and Flogging Molly. He also began learning to play the drums when he was eight years old.

In 2017, he made his cinematic debut as a music video director with the Girlpool song "123." He's also worked on Current Joys videos.
