Farrell made the inside of her van home for many years, performing on the streets of New Orleans and Seattle.
The songstress eventually moved to Nashville where she landed a record deal with Rounder Records. Her debut album Long Time Coming is a moving and magnetic feat. The earthy, free-spirited artist has been praised by critics for beautiful songs “unbound by genre or era.” According to the artist’s website, “Farrell’s songs instantly transport her audience to a more enchanted world.”
Her debut was co-produced by Stu Hibberd and 10-time Grammy Award-winner Gary Paczosa (he’s worked with Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton and Gillian Welch). Farrell wants her music to mirror her mind — “It’s all over the place,” she stated in an interview. Farrell is inspired by bluegrass, techno, goth and metal music. Farrell joined forces on her debut with a lineup of guest musicians including Jerry Douglas, Tim O’Brien, Chris Scruggs, Sarah Jarosz, Billy Strings and Dennis Crouch.
