Members that are still part of the band since the early days are “Ranger Doug” Green (guitar/vocals), Fred LaBour (bass/vocals) and “Woody Paul” Chrisman (fiddle/vocals). Joey Misculin (accordion/vocals) was added in 1988. The group had rotating members until the release of their first album, Three On The Trail, in 1979. Soon after, the Riders began performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and were inducted as members in 1982. Over the next few years, they went on to do roles in Tumbleweed Theater and Sweet Dreams. Fred LaBour and Steve Arwood began to do a weekly radio show called Riders Radio Theater in 1988, which lasted for 7 years. The group won their first Grammy for Best Musical Album For Children after the release of Woody’s Round Up: A Rootin’ Tootin’ Collection of Woody’s Favorite Songs, which was created for Toy Story 2.
