Leopoldstadt Theatre Tickets

Watch a masterful performance with Leopoldstadt tickets. The immersive, Olivier Award-winning play opened to rave reviews and sold-out performances in 2020. The story follows a Jewish family in Vienna during the first half of the 20th century who were forced to flee pogroms in the East; it details their fortunes throughout this tumultuous period as they try to maintain some semblance of stability within an ever-changing world around them while also adapting themselves accordingly so that life would be bearable for everyone involved--even at great sacrifice.

Leopoldstadt is a play by Sir Tom Stoppard that opened on January 25, 2020, at Wyndham's Theatre in London. Leopoldstadt was the old, congested Jewish district of Vienna at the start of the 20th century. Hermann Merz, a company manufacturer and a baptized Jew who is married to Catholic Gretl, has improved his position in life. Hermann's large family is at the heart of Tom Stoppard's massive yet intimate drama, which takes place in a trendy area of the metropolis. This play passes through the convulsions of war, revolution, poverty, annexation by Nazi Germany, and – for Austrian Jews – the Holocaust in which 65,000 of them were murdered before we said goodbye to this family.

Don't miss this incredibly human and heartbreaking play with Leopoldstadt tickets. The play has won many accolades after its debut including Tony Awards for Best New Play, Best Featured Actor in a Play and Best Direction of a Play in 2023. The production of Leopoldstadt was a collaboration between the talents at Sonia Friedman Productions and Tom Stoppard. The design was done by Richard Hudson (The Lion King) and the costumes for the production were created by Brigitte Reiffenstuel. Both Hudson and Reiffenstuel won the Tony Award for Best Scenic Design and Best Costume Design at the 2023 Tony Awards. There is lighting designer Neil Austin and composer Adam Cork whose music delighted audiences everywhere. This momentous play will leave you deeply moved by the thoughts of memory, loss and recovery.

Leopoldstadt Seating Chart

West End theatres typically offer a variety of seating options. An elevated section in the rear of the venue may be labeled the balcony or upper circle. The next section, moving toward the stage, may be known as the mezzanine, grand circle, or dress circle, followed by the loge or royal circle. The floor-level seating section is typically known as the stalls or orchestra.

As there are a total of thirty-nine theatres in the historic West End, capacity ranges vastly from venue to venue.
