The $24 million (Canadian) construction was completed a little over a year later on August 28, 1999. Originally called Skyreach Place, it was rebranded Prospera Place in 2003.

Prospera Place is home to the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Kelowna Rockets.  The arena has also hosted the 2004 Memorial Cup and four WHL Championships. Both the Grand Slam of Curling and the World Junior Hockey Championships took place at Prospera Place. Since 2016, the annual Rock the Lake Music Festival takes place at the venue every August.  World-class concerts by such performers as Sir Elton John and KISS have taken place here as well. Prospera Place has a seating capacity that varies depending on the event. Hockey games have a seating capacity of 5,507. That number increases to 6,286 if they offer standing room. For hockey games and other ice sports, you will get the best view of the event from center ice seat.  Look for sections 101 and 109. Concerts have a seating capacity of 8,000 people. Some concerts offer general admission (sometimes standing only) as well as reserved seating. Prospera Place Schedule

Prospera Place hosts the home games of the Kelowna Rockets from September through March. The So You Think You Can Dance Canada tour came to the venue. WWE has put on wrestling shows Velocity and Smackdown at the arena. Kid Rock and ZZ Top have taken the stage at Prospera Place. Country stars Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley brought their Nashville sound to Canada. Legendary performer Cher has also played a show at the venue.
