Home matches are played at Werner Park. It is a minor league baseball park southwest of Omaha. The park opened in 2011 and is also the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers who are the Triple-A affiliate of the MLB Kansas City Royals. Some baseball games are also played by the Omaha Mavericks from the University of Nebraska. The stadium can seat 9,023.

Union was founded in 2020 as the Union Omaha Soccer Club.  Great effort was made to imbue the spirit of Omaha and Nebraska in general. The name is in homage to the Union Pacific Railroad. The crest of the club pays tribute to the great horned owl, which is native to Nebraska, displayed prominently.

The first coach of Union was Jay Mims. Mims played professional soccer with the Cincinnati Riverhawks. After retiring from playing, he became an assistant for the Creighton Bluejays. After nine years he was hired as head coach by the Omaha Mavericks as the first soccer coach in the program’s history.

Mims then joined the Real Salt Lake Academy, working primarily with the U-18 and U-19 development teams. He also functioned as an assistant to Jamison Olave, the head coach of the Real Monarchs, a USL Championship side.
