Morisod had previously enjoyed a successful career accompanying artists like Fernand Raynaud, Henri Des and Arlette Zola. He released his “Concerto Pour Un Ete” in 1971, which was a charting hit in France and sold over 2 million copies. In 1977 Morisod created Sweet People in preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest, and their song “Hey, Le Musicien” reached second place in the competition’s national finals.
The following year Sweet People released Le Lac De Come, which went certified platinum and enjoyed a No. 1 hit song in Canada. On the back of this success, the group released their album Perce. The album contained their song “Et Les Oiseaux Chantaient,” which became a top ten hit in Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands. Sweet People’s 1985 release “Adieu et Bonne Chance” was a charting success in France, and the band has since enjoyed numerous gold and platinum albums in Canada including Madawaska, Prend Le Temps and Noel Sans Toi.
