Hear this veteran folk music act with Storyhill tickets. This folk duo, that formed in Bozeman, Mont., is Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson. They began their musical careers together in 1989 and were then called Chris & Johnny. Their career started locally, as these life-long friends began playing together all-around Montana creating a grassroots style following. After creating a self-titled recording in 1989, their 2nd full-length, and first studio, album Shapeshifting came out in 1991 and Different Waters in 1992. As their fame grew and had signed with Red House Records, they released Miles and Mean, the last album under their original band name. For 1995’s Clearing the duo used their full names and for 1996’s The Side of Lost they employed the name Storyhill for the first time. But, to the surprise of fans and critics alike, the folk duo broke up in 1997.
Storyhill reformed, after both perused solo careers for a time, after the Cunningham and Hermanson played a few reunion gigs together in 2002. Their first post-reunion album was Dovetail followed by Duotones: A Tribute to Duos of the ‘70s. See this excellent folk act with Storyhill tickets. After signing with Red House Records, they recorded 2007’s Storyhill followed by Shade of the Trees in 2010 and Where to Being in 2019.
