Son Rompe Pera was formed in 2017 when two brothers, Jesus Angel and Allan Gama used to perform with their father at local events, he taught the two how to understand the marimba and the traditions that stem from it. Throughout their teenage years, they rebelled from their classic marimba roots and dabbled in different punk and ska bands. Fast-forward to now where they have blended the two together with their energetic twist never before heard in Mexican folk music that has taken the contemporary international cumbia scene by storm.

The five-member crew travels around Mexico playing concerts at different festivals performing alongside international artists such as AKA Macha, Cafe Tacuba and Fidel Nadal along with playing the weekends at the Persa Bio-Bio street market.
