Pacific FC was founded in 2018 by two former Canadian men’s national team players Joshua Simpson and Rob Friend. Simpson initially served as club president and Friend was executive director when it launched. The club tapped Pa-Modou Kah as its first coach after a successful playing career with the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer.

The club was the seventh team to join the CanPL and the first to represent Vancouver Island. The club’s primary colors are starfish purple, lagoon blue and lighthouse white. The fan organization the Lake Side Buoys are always around to liven up the audience for Pacific FC matches.
