He performed on tour with the group and on the studio albums Hittin’ the Note and One Way Out as well as being awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his time with them in 2012. In the early 2000s, the musician also recorded and performed with his own group Oteil and the Peacemakers who released three albums. He released his debut solo album, Water in the Desert, in 2017 featuring songs like “Nothing” and “Chasing”.
