Originally called Magnified Plaid, MxPx was created by teens Yuri Ruley, Andy Husted and Mike Herrera. Their first album, Pokinatcha, debuted in 1994. The band furthered its success with Teenage Politics in 1995 and Life in General in 1996. They got their big break in 1998 with the release of Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo, which was certified gold and peaked at No. 99 on the Billboards 200. Their rise to stardom was swift after that. In 2000, MxPx debuted The Ever Passing Moment, which helped them gain a slot supporting a tour with Conspiracy of One, The Offspring and Cypress Hill.

The popularity of MxPx tickets began to soar with the album's hit single "Responsibility," which peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. Additionally, the song was featured in the television move Is It Fall Yet? MxPx also gained further recognition from younger audiences after releasing their version of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?," which became part of the soundtrack for the movie Scooby-Doo.

MxPx went on to release Before Everything & After, which peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 charts. The band's hit single, "The Empire," won the Special Event Album of the Year from the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The band's seventh studio album, Panic, was released and featured singer-bassist Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 and +44 with "Heard That Sound." The band focused on touring to support their newest album for the next two years before releasing Secret Weapon in 2007. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard's Christian chart and No 76. On the Billboard 200.

MxPx released three more hit albums, On the Cover II, Punk Rawk Christmas and Plans Within Plans. To honor the band's 20th anniversary, they re-released a new version of Life in General, and the self-titled album, MxPx. With hits under their belt, they are a group to catch at a live concert.
