Born in Colombia in 1972, Juanes endured incredible hardships in an unstable, violent country while growing up. Surprisingly, however, it was the American band Metallica that would inspire the founding of Juanes’ metal band Ekhymosis. After 10 successful years with the band, he went solo.

He went right back to the studio after Fijate Bien and released Un Día Normal and Mi Sangre, and afterward was named in Time Magazine’s “Top 100 Most Influential People.” Juanes tickets have sold out countless times because of chart-topping, award-winning albums and songs. In 2018 Rolling Stone recognized his song “A Dios le Pido” as one of the 50 greatest Latin songs. In 2019 the Latin Recording Academy recognized the artist as Person of the Year. In total, Juanes touts eight studio albums, three live albums, and has been awarded 23 Latin Grammys.

In November of 2019, Juanes released his eighth album Más Futuro Que Pasado, merging popular Colombian music forms with trap music, rock, and other genres.
