After he was put on the map through tours with the group, Sutton became a desirable asset for many similar groups. His skills saw him tour widely with hit country artists like the Dixie Chicks and Chris Thile. Sutton has been praised by critics for his unique style, which fuses traditional bluegrass and blues elements with a powerful and melodic personal touch.
