Their debut full-length album, The Red in the Sky Is Ours, was released in 1992 by Peaceville Records. They released their most successful album, Slaughter of the Soul, three years later. Despite their international success, the band broke up in 1996. Each band member went on to work with other groups, including The Haunted, Lock Up and Cradle of Filth.
After an 11-year hiatus, the band announced a reunion tour in 2007. The newly reestablished group was formed with former and new members, including Tomas Lindberg, Adrian Erlandsson, Jonas Björler, Martin Larsson and Jonas Stålhammar. During their reunion tour, they played at numerous music festivals, including the Graspop Metal Meeting, the Sweden Rock Festival and the Gods of Metal festival. In 2014, they released At War with Reality, their first album in 19 years. The album received positive reviews and reached number 53 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, it won a Swedish Grammy and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Inspiration Award. The band released their follow-up album, To Drink from the Night Itself, in 2018. In 2020, they began touring for their 25th anniversary.
