Anthony Geraci is a composer, singer and pianist known for his extensive jazz and blues career which has seen him perform with the likes of Chuck Berry, B.B. King and Muddy Waters. He is a founding member of both Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters and Sugar Ray & the Bluetones.
Geraci was born in 1954 in New Haven, Conn., and began learning to play piano at age four. At sixteen he encountered the work of Jimmy Rogers and grew a passion for jazz and the blues. Geraci went on to study at both the Berklee College of Music and Skidmore College, and after establishing himself in the local music scene got a job opening for Muddy Waters. He was soon discovered by Sugar Ray Norcia, with whom he formed Sugar Ray & the Bluetones.
In 1999 Geraci was featured on Sugar Ray Norcia’s Superharps album, which would go on to earn a nod for the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. In 2015 the pianist released his solo album Fifty Shades of Blue, which garnered Geraci four separate Blues Award nominations.
