Born in 1972 in Esfahan, Ghorbani began training in Persian traditional music at twelve years old. He was mentored by well-known artists like Khosro Soltani and Hossein Omoumi and soon began performing at Persian traditional music festivals. In 1999, Ghorbani joined the Iranian National Orchestra as lead vocalist, contributing heavily to their first album Enthusiasm.
Ghorbani went on to record songs for a number of popular Iranian television programs such as Shabe Dahom, Kife Englisi and Madare Sefr Darajeh. In the late 2010s, the singer performed with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra in A Persian Night, the first of what would be many collaborations between the two. Ghorbani is also the founder of the Voices and Bridges project, which brings together composers and musicians from diverse world music styles.
