Citadel Bulldogs Tickets

The Bulldogs represent The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in NCAA Division I athletics and have competed in the Southern Conference since 1936. The football team competes in Division I Football Championship Subdivision, or FCS. The school colors are citadel blue and white.

Citadel’s football program started in 1905 with inaugural head coach Syd Smith. Home games are played at James Hagood Stadium, which can accommodate 11,500 fans and is on campus in Charleston, S.C.

The Bulldogs have won multiple conference championships, the first being in 1951 and won its first bowl game in 1960, defeating Tennessee Tech 27-0. The team has also appeared in multiple FCS playoff games. The Citadel competes in the Military Classic of the South against VMI and also has a heated rivalry against the Furman Paladins.

The most successful athletic program at The Citadel is baseball. The Bulldogs have been conference champions over ten times, conference tournament champions over five times and have also made over ten NCAA appearances. Their first appearance in the College World Series was in 1990, the first military team to do so.

Citadel Ticket Prices

Several variables will affect Citadel Bulldogs ticket prices. The most important is the level of demand for a given contest. Non-conference games between little-known teams can be fairly inexpensive while tickets to the NCAA Tournament or NIT can be much more expensive. Conference tournaments and other conference contests can be a happy medium for fans who want to watch quality hoops without breaking the bank. 

How much are Citadel tickets?

Courtside and premium seats will cost much more while spots in the upper levels of an arena are typically more affordable. Typically, courtside seats for a conference game will be over $100 per ticket.

Costs can rise in the postseason. The average men’s March Madness ticket for first and second-round contests carried a cost of $173 while prices rose to as high as $135 for women’s games. Women’s Final Four and Championship tickets usually start around $114 while prices can rise as high as $1200. Men’s Final Four tickets will run around $555 for just the semifinals and $349 for only the title game.

Early season tournaments like the NIT Season Tip-off will usually cost between $19 and $172. NIT tickets for the upper level of Madison Square Garden will be the cheapest with costs usually in the $19 to $35 range. The Preseason WNIT, which features many of the best women’s basketball teams in the nation, will usually have costs between $15 and $50. WNIT Tickets will change in cost depending on which team is hosting too.

Citadel Schedule

From the season-opening Champions Classic to March Madness, the college basketball season is always full of exciting games. Teams open their seasons in November with non-conference contests and tournaments. The Maui Invitational and Gulf Coast Showcase are two of the top early-season tournaments. The season moves into conference play in December and January before conference tournaments take place in early March. The WNIT, NIT and NCAA Tournaments will take place in March and April.

The Citadel schedule for the current season has 25 games remaining on the calendar. The final matchup on the Citadel Bulldogs schedule will take place inside Kidd Brewer Stadium at 1 Kidd Brewer Stadium, Boone, NC. The final game will feature Appalachian State Mountaineers vs. Citadel Bulldogs and tip off is scheduled for September 24th, 2022 at TBD.

When do Citadel tickets go on sale?

Most regular-season college basketball tickets will go on sale in June or July after schedules are released for the upcoming season. Early season tournaments like the Maui Invitational will usually start selling tickets as soon as they announce the field and dates for the next event. Postseason seats will be available as soon as the NCAA and NIT selection committees announce tournament fields.
