Construction on the Segerburg Opera House was finished in July of 1913. The new building had its own unique style, constructed in a distinct fusion of the Art Nouveau of the late 1800s and the Craftsman style popular in the 1920s, with such flourishes as floral stencils on the interior of the auditorium. The new opera house could seat 238.

R.N. Williams and J.W. Lloyd purchased the theatre in 1983 and added a new entryway as well as a conference room and a bar on the third floor, known as the Vaudeville Bar. In 1991, the Opera House needed repairs and renovations again and a 501(c)(3) non-profit was created to restore the Opera House to its glory. Renovations and restorations were finally completed, and the Sheridan reopened in 2013. In addition to the Telluride Film Festival, the Sheridan Opera House is also home to the Ride Music Festival.
