Rafferty Stadium broke ground in 2014 and opened at the beginning of 2015. The stadium is named after Larry Rafferty, who is the chief executive officer of Rafferty Capital Markets, and a Fairfield University alum, who gave the lead donation to the project. It was designed by the architectural firm CannonDesign with a construction cost of $16 million. The stadium has a capacity of 3,500 spectators with two VIP suites and a President’s Suite that houses an original painting from world-renowned celebrity portrait artist Stephen Holland.
