Since the Pacific Amphitheatre is part of the fairgrounds, it is nestled in close to a residential community. After many noise complaints from area residents, it was shut down in the 1990s. In 2003, the Orange County Fair and locals agreed that the amphitheatre could reopen and host concerts only during fair times.
