A year later, it was increased to over 70,000 seats. It has since been decreased to over 53,000 with renovations and other add-ons. Construction of the stadium cost $1 million. The ASU Stadium has hosted two annual college football bowl games, the Fiesta Bowl from 1971 to 2006 and the Cactus bowl from 2006 to 2015.
