On June 20, 2010, a tornado dubbed the Father’s Day Tornado hit the arena, causing major damage. From 2010 to 2011, the arena was remodeled, resulting in improved acoustics, additional concession areas and easier access from the parking lots. On April 10, 2011, the first concert since the tornado took place with a performance by Elton John.
