Clarke Stadium was originally built in the late 1930s and was named after the prominent mayor Joseph Clarke. It was built to hold 20,000 spectators including two grandstands. It was rebuilt in 2000, which would be a secondary stadium that took part in the 2001 World Championships in Athletics. It also can hold upwards of 6,000 spectators for non-sporting events and even concerts. This time seating was scaled down to only one grandstand and now holds approximately 5,100 spectators.
