In 2018, the venue underwent a significant series of renovations under the leadership of athletic director Bill Smith and university president Ronald Machtley. Today, the Chace Athletic Center boasts a seating capacity of just under 3,000 as well as a press conference room, upgraded locker rooms and a pool.
The Chace Athletic Center rose to national attention in 2022 when it saw use as the site of the Northeast Conference men’s basketball tournament. During the event, Wagner College and Bryant University fans entered a sizable brawl that received widespread media attention.
