The game was against the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech, where the Red Wolves suffered a devastating loss of 21-7. Their first victory game a week later against Eastern Michigan University. The stadium was designed by the architectural firm Brackett-Krennerich and the construction cost was $2.5 million.
