Burlington Athletic Stadium was originally built in 1958 in Danville, Va., for the Danville Leafs, which was a professional minor league baseball team. When they folded, the stadium was moved to its current location where it was rebuilt and reopened in 1960. It was first known as Fairchild stadium because it was right next to the World War II Fairchild Aircraft manufacturing plant. The stadium is famous for being in the 1988 hit film Bull Durham starring Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins.
