The stadium saw its first action in the season opener for the Wildcats on September 16, 2017, against the Houston Baptist. It was designed by the architectural firm HKS Sports & Entertainment Group, with a construction cost of $50 million. It was named after Mark and April Anthony, who gave a generous donation to help with the funding of the new stadium.
