Suzy Bogguss’ first album Suzy was self-produced and released by independent label Old Shack Recording. While Bogguss’s career was moving along, it wasn’t until she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1985 that she began to pick up steam.

Bogguss’s third album with the label, Aces, was released in 1991 and garnered the singer a gold album. Though 1991’s Aces was Bogguss’s top-charting album, eight of the nine albums Bogguss released between 1989 and 1999 found a place on the country music charts.
