CFL Tickets

Get ready for kickoff with CFL tickets from TicketSmarter! The CFL began to play in 1958 after a merger between the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union and the Western Interprovincial Football Union. Canadian football has a rich history that dates back to the mid-1800s and the game of rugby football. Many of the teams that compete in the league such as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers began competing in the late 1800s. The Grey Cup became the championship for Canadian football in 1909 and then became the CFL’s championship trophy in 1958.

There are several differences when comparing the Canadian game to the American version seen in the NFL or NCAA. Some of the major differences include the Canadian fields being longer and wider, teams only receiving three downs to advance the ball, 12 players on the field at a time, and unlimited movement in the backfield. Many CFL players have gone on to have successful careers in the NFL including Jeff Garcia, Mike Vanderjagt, Andre Rison, Warren Moon, and Doug Flutie. The league features a total of nine teams that are based in six of Canada’s provinces. Score a rouge and a touchdown with CFL tickets from TicketSmarter!

How much are CFL tickets?

Attending a regular-season CFL game is fairly affordable for most teams. CFL tickets will usually start at prices around $45 to $60. Seats near the center field line and in the lower levels will typically be around $125 to $150. The CFL Playoffs and the Grey Cup game will be much more expensive due to the season championship being on the line. Fans looking for cheap CFL tickets should look for seats in the upper levels or for standing room tickets as those will be the least expensive options. Ticket prices listed on TicketSmarter are in United States Dollars and all orders will be processed in that currency.

CFL Dates & Schedule

The CFL schedule begins in May with preseason exhibition contests played through early June. The season will properly kick off in mid-June with 21 weeks of football scheduled for the regular season. Each team in the league will play 18 games, evenly split between home and away, over the duration of the 21-week season.  The nine teams in the league are split into the East and West divisions. Each team will play two games against every other team in the league, along with an additional third game against two of their divisional rivals.

The CFL regular season transitions into the CFL Playoffs in early November with the top six teams in the league entering the playoffs. The lower two seeds will play in the Division Semi-Finals, while the regular-season leaders of each division will get an automatic bye to the Division Finals. The champion of each division will then compete in the CFL Grey Cup game in late November.

When do CFL tickets go on sale?
