After the breakup of their original band, Anatomy of a Ghost, founding members John Gourley and Zach Carothers teamed up with Wesley Hubbard, Nick Klein and Harvey Tumbleson to start a new band from what was once a side project and in 2004 Portugal. The Man was born. In the early days, they didn’t see much success. They spent the first two years of their existence recording demos and touring the US to build up their following. By 2009 the Portugal. The Man began playing concerts at major events like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. This would open the door for them to sign their first major recording contract with Atlantic Records in April of 2010 and put them well on their way to superstardom.

To date, the band has released eight studio albums, four EPs and 11 singles. Their album Woodstock, which was released in 2017 is certified gold. The band has toured all over North America and Europe. They’ve released chart-topping singles like “Live In The Moment” and “Feel It Still” which won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
