As part of his musical training Bailey attended New York's famous Juilliard School, alma mater of many famous American classical musicians. During his career as a soloist, Bailey has performed with most of the leading American ensembles across America including the respective symphony orchestras of Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, North Carolina and Minnesota.
He made his solo recording debut in 2003 and, after signing to the US specialist audiophile label Telarc, Bailey recorded what many believe is one of his finest works - 'Bach Cello Suites'. It was recorded as the artist's homage to Bach and upon its release in 2010 went to the top of the Classical Billboard Charts. In addition to his busy schedule as an international touring musician Bailey is also the artistic director of El Paso Pro Musica and the Sitka Music festival and is a professor of cello at the University of Texas.
