Ferguson showed promise in both baseball and music from an early age. In 1996 he was drafted as an outfielder by the Toronto Blue Jays, but decided to study the arts at Western Kentucky University. While in college he began making his first beats, and in 2001 released his first album of instrumentals, Ablyss.
Following Ablyss, Ferguson released a slew of instrumental albums through the rest of the 2000s, developing a reputation as a skilled beatmaker. By 2010 he had produced beats for star hip hop artists including Little Brother, Slum Village and Platinum Pied Pipers. Ferguson has collaborated extensively with The Foreign Exchange in particular, producing beats for the collective and featuring many of its artists on his albums ManMade and SkyBreak.
The producer has also enjoyed a successful career on film and television, making music for a number of projects from the comedy sketch show Sherman’s Showcase to the animated series Black Dynamite.
