Listen to a British jazz-funk act with Yussef Dayes tickets. The drummer Yussef Dayes was born in South East London in 1993. He is best known as being part of the jazz duo Black Focus under the moniker Yussef Kammal with fellow Brit keyboardist Kammal Williams.
Dayes was first given a drum set to play when he was four years old by his father. He began to take lessons from jazz fusion legend Billy Cobham and decided to pursue music professionally. His style was inspired by many different disparate influences, including his mother’s love of country music and ‘60s pop, his dad’s reggae and jazz as well as the hip hop and grime music played by his friends at school.

Other projects Dayes has been involved with include his debut solo single, “Love is the Message,” in 2018. He also collaborated with Tom Misch on the LP What Kinda Music that climbed to Top Five on the UK album charts in 2020.
