Galvin attended Kenyon College where he wrote songs and played drums for the band Walk the Moon. After some time, he left the band and worked on the project Yellerkin with producer Luca Buccellati.
He now performs solo as Yoke Lore. His first EP as Yoke Lore, Far Shore, released in 2016, followed by Future Generations in 2017. He toured internationally after its release. His success as a solo artist has since been evident. Yoke Lore's music is described as indie-folk, rock and pop with lyrics that are honest and convicting. The music itself is full of a variety of rich sounds. Galvin has an impressive and distinctive vocal range, which he echo-waves and manipulates to create unique sounds and plays banjo and percussion.
