YOB is the brainchild of Mike Schneidt (guitar, vocals) who formed the band after working with groups like Chemikill and Dirty Sanchez. The other members of the band include Aaron Rieseberg (bass), and Travis Foster (drums). Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, YOB first started performing together in 1996. After releasing their demo in 1999 the band released their debut album entitled Elaborations of Carbon with help from 12^th Records. They would follow up with 2002's Catharsis, which feature three 50-minute songs and helped establish YOB’s distinct style. YOB moves deftly in between the genres of stoner metal, post-metal, and doom metal to create their unique sound that has been dubbed “cosmic doom”.

Few shows promise an unforgettable evening quite like YOB tickets as they steadily deliver their dynamic sound. YOB maintained momentum but disbanded for a time in 2006 after the release of The Unreal Never Lived. They would return with a rampage in 2008 with the group's new lineup and receive positive praise for 2009s The Great Cessation. YOB has racked up many accolades including when Rolling Stone named their 2014 release, Clearing the Path to Ascend, the top metal album of the year. In 2018, YOB released Our Raw Heart is one of their most passionate albums to date, after Scheidt’s near-death experience with acute diverticulitis.
