Cowboys wrestling dates back to 1921-22 when the team competed under inaugural head coach Grover Titus. Other notable coaches in the program include James Lynch, who coached from 1922 to 1925, and led the team to its first conference championship when the school competed in the Rocky Mountain Conference. Under his leadership, the school also boasted four individual champions, the first being Arthur Zaring and Francis LaNoue at 125 pounds and Heavyweight, respectively.
