Winger found its niche blending glam metal and progressive metal for charting singles like "Seventeen," "Headed for a Heartbreak" and "Miles Away." The group also released platinum albums Winger and In the Heart of the Young and in1990, Winger was nominated for an American Music Award in the category "Best New Heavy Metal Band."
The band dissolved in 1994 but reunited in 2001 and started touring again. The lineup of the band's 1993 tour, which excluded Paul Taylor and joined John Roth, recorded the group's first studio effort in 13 years, IV, and toured in support of it through 2008. In 2009, the band released their fifth studio album, Karma. Winger was on mini-tours, festivals, and private events in 2013, and their most recent release, Better Days Comin,' was issued in 2014.
