Hear this renowned voice of country and folk music with Willy Tea Taylor tickets. Taylor was born in Oakdale, Calif., a small town well known for its many world champion rodeo cowboys. Taylor broke with his family's long tradition of working as a cattle rancher to pursue a love of baseball. But he suffered a knee injury that ended his career as a catcher. He turned to music after seeing Greg Brown perform at the Strawberry Music Festival and began his music career with the band Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit in 2009. By 2015, he played on the main stage at the very festival that inspired his musical journey.
Willy Tea Taylor released his first studio album in 2006 with Born and Raised with Heckabad Records. This sophomore album dropped in 2011 with 4 Strings with a song co-written by Robert Lowry. After playing with his other band for a while, Taylor returned to his solo work in 2015 with Knuckleball Prime produced by Blackwing Music. In 2018, he released a split EP with The River Arkansas and again in 2021, this time a full split album, with The Turkey Buzzards.
