Kids in the Night, the band's debut album, was released in 2018, originally appearing as two separate EPs before being compiled into a single record. Although not as commercially successful as "Happy Pills," album tracks like "I'm Not Ok" became viral hits, earning more than 12 million streams on Spotify and paving the way for another string of non-album singles during the following year. "Dirty Money," "Lonely Vampire," and "Always Tired" were all released in 2019, followed in 2020 by "C'est la vie" and "Feel Good." By February 2021, "C'est la vie" had become the band's second radio hit in America, where the song climbed to Number 35 on Billboard's Alternative Songs.
