Follow-ups Dangerous Madness (1996) and Citizen Wayne (1998) failed to make much of an impact but he continued to record for his own MuscleTone label and compose soundtracks for television and films, including Talledega Nights. He also became heavily involved with the Jail Guitar Doors charity aiming to provide musical instruments for prisoners.
